If you find yourself downtown, it would be the perfect time to visit the Farmers Market off of 4th St. SE! The Downtown Farmers Market is held in a parking lot near the Government Center at 4th Street SE and 4th Ave SE and across the Zumbro River from the Mayo Civic Center. The Downtown Farmers Market runs from May-October on Saturdays between 7:30 AM-12:00 PM.

There is also a mid-week Farmers Market held near Graham Park at the Olmsted County Fairgrounds at 35 Fairgrounds Ave SE that runs from June-September between 2:00 PM-6:00 PM. If you’re interested in checking it out, this Wednesday, September 25th will be the last day of the Graham Park Farmers until it picks up again on November 2nd. Between the months of November and April, the Graham Park Farmers Market runs every other Saturday from 9:00 AM-12:00 PM.

Visiting a Rochester Farmers Market gives us the opportunity to support local producers as they provide us with healthy and delicious foods throughout the entire year. There is a ton of variety at the Farmers Markets from vegetables and fruit to beef, elk, bacon, and even things like syrups and honey!

Attending the Rochester Markets and meeting the local producers allows them to share what they are passionate about while receiving support from the public. To them, this business goes further than just producing the food, it’s also about meeting the consumers who are enjoying the product of their hard work.

A few heads-up if you plan on attending one of the Farmer’s Markets:

-Unfortunately, no pets are allowed due to the importance of cleanliness.

-Yes, the markets are kid-friendly! Occasionally there are booths dedicated to entertaining kids such as the balloon animal twister or music performers. If not, bring the kids along to help pick out some fresh fruits and vegetables!

-Bring cash. Some vendors do accept cards, but it’s better to be safe then sorry. You’d hate to find something you’re craving and not have a way to pay for it!

Enjoy your time at the Rochester Farmers Markets!
